Hello! My name is Edgardo Barría and I am a software engineer. With more than 5 years of experience in software development, life has given me the opportunity to do what I am passionate about, work alongside great people and companies around the world, and continually improve my skills and experiences. I enjoy being able to do what I like, and at the same time deliver value for the companies and clients I work with. My expectations are to continually improve my technical and soft skills, deliver significant value in my work along with a focus on quality, and share my experiences and knowledge with those around me.
Deloitte was my first experience working as a software consultant for a varied number of clients. During
my stay at this company, I worked remotely from Chile and developed a wide range of software solutions for
the Banking, Insurance, Logistics, Hospitality, and Mining industries. Located mostly in Canada, the most
notable companies are: TD Bank, Economical Insurance, EQUS, LodgeLink, Premier Outils Pro, Meridian Credit
Union, Hut 8, among others.
I really enjoyed the challenges of using technologies and tools that constantly changed depending on the
client, facing new challenges and learning about business needs of different sizes and complexities.
I am very grateful for the time I shared with my colleagues while I was at Deloitte, working with such
talented and positive people truly gives you a drive to constantly improve individually and collectively.
Main Technologies: Java, Spring Framework, Oracle, Maven, JavaScript, NetSuite, Guidewire.
FedEx was my first job as a software developer. There, I worked on the development and maintenance of
global and regional customs clearance systems. I contributed to the construction of server applications,
Frontend web applications, in addition to developing CI/CD systems with automation tools. I had the
opportunity to work with people from all over Latin America and North America, especially with the
business team located in Memphis, Tennessee. I am truly grateful for the time I shared at FedEx with my
coworkers.
Main Technologies: Java, Spring Boot, Oracle, Maven, WebLogic, Cloud Foundry, Jenkins, Groovy, SAFe 5.
I did my internship at Digevo, as an Android developer. I mainly worked on building prototypes of Android
mobile applications, which mostly used Google Maps APIs. Despite only being at Digevo for two months, the
knowledge acquired was crucial to begin and continue my career as a software developer.
Main Technologies: Java, Android, HTML, CSS, JS, Google Maps APIs, Kotlin.
My skills as a Software Engineer are mainly related to backend development, in addition to Frontend development and development on CI/CD platforms (DevOps). I have experience working with on-prem and cloud platforms, and I am always willing to learn new technologies and platforms.
When I'm away from the keyboard, one of my main hobbies is road cycling. I really enjoy training after work or early on the weekends. If time and physical condition allow, I generally participate in Amateur cycling competitions. By the way, southern Chile in summer is the perfect place to enjoy this pastime.
Cinema is another of my favorite pastimes. I try to keep my watchlist up to date, but for every movie I watch, I add about 5 😅.
